Hi,
Need assistance in how to reprogram 2 motion detectors (one wired, one wireless). I need them to act as "perimeters" as they are the only detectors in my basement right now and I want them "armed" when I am in stay mode elsewhere...ADT wants $136 to come out to reprogram...I want to learn how to do this myself. Any help?
System:
Ademco Safewatch pro 3000en
2 Safe Pass keypads.
Cellular back up
Dave:rolleyes:

As you know, the SW 3000 is a modified Vista 20p.
Are these "Safe Pass" keypads fixed english or are they 2-line alpha keypads?
What you want to do is to put these zones in what's called "night stay", but to do this you have to have an alpha keypad to access the programming menus.

Websearch using the phrase "vista 20p installer code" This is easier if you have the manual to refer to.
Go to program: [installer code] + 8 + 00
*81
Zone list No: 5*
(this is the only list that contains night/stay zones)
Enter Zn Num.: 08* 10* 00
From that point on, you simply answer 0 for no to all succeeding prompts until you get back to the zone list number prompt. Then you enter 00 to exit *81 programming.
After that, when you arm the system with [code] + 33, those two zones will not autobypass.

2 things...
1) How do I determine what my "installer code" is ?
2) Can I program one of the 4 keypad keys to execute the ("code" +33) so as to put the system into Nite Stay with a single stroke? (I need my teens and wife to be able to do this in the most simplest way possible!)
Thx so much sir.

Look in the sticky titled "Alarm Forum FAQ: Please Read before posting"
It has the steps to extract the installer code from any Ademco design panel.

OK..almost there...unfortunately after I did what you stated I would up with " enter * or #" after all the programming.
how do I get out of this?

Possibly, you did not follow the instructions. Remove battery _and_ AC power first. Then restore AC power and press * + # within 50 seconds. Unplugging the phone line is a good common sense "just in case".
