Hi

I want to make my first bookcase. i have some questions.

1 - Wher do I find the wood? If I go to stores, such as B& Q in UK, with my measurements, should I be able to get wood from there?

2 - I would like to have sliding glass doors in my bookcase. Is there any guide that shows how to put sliding glass doors to a bookcase.

Hope someone can answer these questions.

Thanks

Not sure about the UK, but over here I would run down to Lowe's or Home Depot and get some oak plywood for the project and make face frames of solid wood. Lowe's and HD will cut plywood to size on their big panel saws, although they always warn you the cut is not precise. As for doors, I don't know that sliding ones would be a good option. Have you considered the flip-up style like these (or possibly this is what you meant):
