Replaced light fixture. All wires are hooked up correctly. turn on the breaker box and it comes on. go to light switch and try to turn it off nothing happens. Bought a new light switch again nothing happened. Only controlled at breaker box. What do I need to check

Did you change any splices at the fixture box besides the ones directly involved with the fixture? It sound like you spliced a constant hot into a switch loop.
Was there a white spliced with a black when you took the old fixture down?
