Ceiling fan stopped working after roof leak. Leak has been fixed and every thing has dried out, but the fan and light still do not work. The fan has a remote control and is wired to a wall switch. The fan was off when the roof leaked, but it was a major roof leak, I'm sure the fan got wet.
Is there anything I should look for that would let me know if it is fixable or not? I'm really not sure what damage water would do to a fixture, so I'm not sure why it's not working!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The remote controls have a circuit board inside that may have shorted out if it got wet.

You could turn off the power and bypass the remote to see if the fan still works. Label all your connections before you make any changes.
