Whenever I look at designing magazines or pictures inside homes, the rooms almost always have white trim, white doors, etc. I have brown trim & wooden doors. Is this out of style? Should I paint everything white??

There really aren't any wrong or right colors. White has always been the standard trim color but that doesn't mean any other color [deep or light] isn't acceptable.

If you like how your paint scheme looks - keep it. If your tired of it and want something else - change it:D

Paint is one of the cheaper things you can do to change how your home looks. Don't be afraid to experiment, after all if you don't like the change - it isn't that hard/expensive to change it back or try something else.

To add to the already great comments...
I think white trim stays so popular since it goes with anything, looks crisp/clean and new, and contrasts well with colored walls. If you're planning to sell your home soon, I'd stay conservative with fairly neutral colors and perhaps white trim. (But maybe avoid pure white on walls, as it can look a bit stark. Also, there are lots of different hues of "white" for trim to complement your paint; doesn't have to be pure white.) If you're not "staging" to sell, you have lots of options. For some trim color ideas, see:
Selecting Trim Color: Introduction (http://www.bhg.com/decorating/color/choosing/selecting-trim-color/?page=1)

Before painting our trim from beige to white recently, we sanded ours some and primed it first, and used a semi-gloss finish latex paint. I also recommend using a 1-inch brush and tape off the walls with painters tape or plan to wipe slip-ups with a wet cloth as you go. Ours took a while but we like the results!

What I'd do with the wood doors would depend on how they nice they already look with the rest of the paint and trim. If it's nice wood, I might leave it as is or consider staining. We painted our wood doors white and like the result -- good thing, as it would take some effort to strip 'em if we wanted to go back to plain wood. :-)
Hope that helps!
