Just looking for an attractive, economical, flush ceiling mounted, motion detector and light for the front entrance. We live out a bit and the wife would like the light to come on without going to the switch at the door which has side windows.

An added twist is that there are two existing ceiling fixtures on the switch now. Can we just put up 2 new detector fixtures replacing the old fixtures?

We don't want one that comes on all night just when motion is detected. Would be nice if it accepted CFL lamps also.

Thank you.

While they make some very nice looking wall mount motion lights, for what you are after might be better done by getting the seperate motion sensor switch and wire it to the light fixture that you like.

You can tuck the sensor unit up into an unobtrusive corner of the porch. The do make ceiling mounted motion sensors, but I'm not sure if anyone makes one that's outdoor rated with the light sensor so that it doesn't come on during the day.
