I have a built-in Whirlpool oven/microwave combo unit. The oven does not close properly. The latch seems to work but it latches loose. When you close the oven door it comes back open about 1/2 inch and the oven light goes on.

When the door is fully open, does it sag? Maybe the door hinges are bent/worn/loose. you might try placing a hammer handle or similar at the bottom of each side of the door, [between the door and the oven] and GENTLY close the door a little against the handles. Can you post the model # ? Thanks.

Well the door should close tightly, not loosely. It sounds like the latch might be bent or broken.
