Hi,

I painted with some friends yesterday, and it seems on some of the walls someone let the roller dry off a bit, so there are painted on paint chunks in the wall. Some of them look picked off, some of them still remain.

Will I be able to pick them off, and lightly roll over this area (like 1 or 2 cm of white) or will this stand out causing me to have to repaint the entire section?

Welcome to the forums!

Assuming the chunks are bits of trash embedded in the paint you can scrape them off. You might need to spackle those spots if a depression was left where the chunks were.

I'd try touching up first - it will take 2 coats if you used any spackling. Paints with little/no sheen will touch up better than shinier paints. Some brands tend to touch up better than others.

Hello,

You may also try sanding with a fine grit sandpaper so walls are not too scrached, and those dried chunks of paint should come right off leaving the wall with a smooth surface. If there are holes you may spackle them, if not you can spot prime and repaint those spots. This seems to happen when the brush or roller is left out of the paint, you should keep the rollers/brushes dipped into the paint so it does not dry as much, or paint faster.
