Hi all,

I'm moving into a new apartment in the next couple of weeks in Manhattan and since the space is small I want to ceiling mount my flat panel TV. I'm a big fan of concealed wires and plan to have the cable box and DVD player on a separate shelf in a different area from the TV. Can anyone provide me with guidance on how to accomplish such an installation? I think I can figure out the ceiling mount part of it, but I'm not sure how to run all the different wires through the ceiling and walls and have them come out by the plug outlets or cable box / DVD player. I also read about potentially retrofitting a new electricity box closer to the TV (not sure that's something I should try myself since I have no experience working with electricity).

This is an existing building, so I have to work with what I'm given.

Any help you can give me is much appreciated.

If its a rental apartment...you can't be modifying the electrical in any way. You would need the owner to pay an electrician (not likely to happen) to make any changes.

I'm not worried about that in the least. I'm just want to know how to make the modifications, thanks.
