The ceiling light fixture has a 45watt maximum sticker on it. Can I increase the wattage by replacing the fixture or is that all the wireing can handle? thanks, D

that is the fixture rating. That means that no matter what is used to feed the fixture, you cannot install more than 45 watts of lights in it.

If you want/need more light, you will need to replace the fixture.
