Have GE NX-8 panel and NX-148E touchpads. Contract is over and installer refuses to give us installer code (which he changed from the default 9713). I am willing to buy a NX-588E. I am also willing to use the DL900 software to create a whole new panel programming, but my senior brain just doesn't want to do that. I have read 588E instructions, but I am not seeing the option of uploading or "seeing" the programming on the panel to be able to change the installer code. I don't know at this point if they changed any download access code in a DL900 program of their own. Suggestions from GEGUY?

If you have the direct connect and DL900 working, _and_ these guys didn't change the download settings (rarely done...), you will be able to see all codes, including the installer code.

You won't need to do a complete reprogram, all you will need to do is change the codes if the software connects.

If they did lock out the software route, then you pretty much need a new main board (unless GE Guy knows a backdoor that I don't know...)

Thank you, MrRonFL! I'll order the 588E! I'll let you know if it works for me. This forum is just wonderful! I looked for hours and hours for an answer to our alarm woes.

As long as they didn't change the download access code, you'll be OK! Once you get online, look in the user codes and scroll past code 99, that's where the installer code is.

Thank you GEGUY! If they changed the download access code, is buying the software NXUnlocker worth it? But I will have another 4 control panels to deal with (two sons with one home and three shops). This dealer is even BBB accredited! We have submitted a complaint.

I've never used that software...might be cheaper just to buy a new nx8
