Hello
can you help me.
I have installed a used dsc 832 keypad that I have installed, to replace a faulty keypad of the same model. The used keypad works fine, to arm and disarm system. However, the 8 zones I have do not show up correctly. They show the old zones from the old house the keypad came from. How do I get this keypad to show the correct zones?
I have 2 keypads. One is the original, which shows the zones correctly. The used keypad is the second keypad, and I need to learn how to program it to show the correct zones. I hope someone can help me. Thx.

Assuming that you have the installer code and have set the new keypad to the address that the old one had (or at least a different address from the "good" keypad:
At the "good" keypad--
Go to program: *8 [installer code]
Press *
This puts you into keypad programming for the LCD keypad.
Enter 98
If all is correct, it will copy all of the descriptions to the new keypad.
Press # until you are out of programming.

Thx MrRonFL.
I have the installer code, and was able to get into program mode.
How do I set the new keypad to the address the old one had, or a different address from the good keypad?? I am not sure what you mean by that.
I simply connected it to the same wires the old one was connected to, and it works fine to arm and disarm, and shows no trouble.
I will do what you suggest, but first wanted to be sure the "address" is ok the way I did it. Thx.

if its working- dont worry about it.
if your using the zone input or prgramable output from the keypad, it matters
did you get the zone labels to transfer from the "good" one to the replaced one??
if so- your done

The odds are pretty even that the replacement keypad had the same address as the original, which is why there wasn't a supervision trouble.
For your purposes, if the transfer worked and there isn't a trouble, you are good to go.
