I have a 1964 15' Steury runabout while on the lake today the steering cable came out of the grooves on the steering wheel and is tangled, ( like the old style phone cords ) it LOOKS like there is far to much cable but I'm not sure, it is a pulley type system and I'm sure it is going to need replaced soon but I would at least like to get it running for the next week, can anyone tell me how this is supposed to work.

Thanks,
John

Welcome to the board!

I hate to tell you this but you should replace it. If it did come apart while underway it will not be a good thing.
