A friend asked me to take a look at his Excel Devilbiss Pressure Washer. It is the "Premium" 2750 PSI model with a Honda XR2750. His problem is that one of the three plug valves pops out as soon as you start the engine (Water turned on). The threads look good, so I tried reinstalling the plug valve using a liberal amount of teflon tape. I ended up with the same result: Popped right out.

What's causing this and how do I fix it? The pump is brass, as are the plug valves. I'm about this close to brazing the sucker in there! :madhell:

The housing may have a hairline crack that could expand under pressure enough to unseat the threads.
If there is a chance it was left with water in it and froze during winter, could cause a crack...
