1. Freezer cool, but not frozen. Refrigerator cool
2. The middle strip between freezer and frig. where the two doors close....VERY hot. Almost too hot to touch.
There is some kind of control module on the backside. Is this the part that controls these things?
Thanks for any clues on this.

This is a common symptom when a condensor fan - the fan that tries to cool the hot coils under the unit - stops working.
Both fans should be running everytime the compressor runs, I might add.

Thank you both for the feedback. This is a "long distance" assist for a friend. Will get the info on the fans as soon as possible.
