Hi, I have a John Deere JS63C walk behind mower and the starter won't recoil. It's pulled all the way out and won't recoil at all. I took the plastic cover off the top to try and get a look at it but I can't figure out how to take off the starter assembly to see if the spring is broken or something. It looks like it's riveted on the hole on the fasteners holding it on looked completely round. I couldn't find any help on the john deere website, could you please help? Thanks a million!

Not positive on yours but the recoil housing is likely riveted to the engine shroud. Remove the shroud and you can access the inside of the recoil assy.
