I am trying to determine which way to go on exterior wall insulation.
We are re sheetrocking inside our house and I am trying to determine which way to gop with the wall insulation. I havew been told that the Fi-Foil paper has about the same R value as the 3/4 or 1" foam board.
I have also been told that the Fi-foil is actually only a vapor/rediant barrier and has only a R value of about 2.5 based on 3/4" firing strip.
Bottom line they are quoting about $1100 more for the foam board and Im wondering if its worth the investmet.

Here is some info I use on foam board applications:
Last line of this: Energy Savers: Foam Board Insulation (http://www.energysavers.gov/your_home/insulation_airsealing/index.cfm/mytopic=11620)
And "thermal drift" here: Foam and Foam Board Insulation (http://www.healthgoods.com/Education/healthy_home_information/Building_Design_and_Construction/foam_board.htm)
One more: Panhandle Insulation (http://www.panhandleinsulation.com/buildingmaterials.html)
