I own a dsc power 832 system which lately is behaving differently when I try to arm the system. When I enter the 4 digit code, I have to enter it extremely fast.
I enter the first 3 digits and if I don't enter the last digit quickly the system beeps and I have to start over.

Is the third digit of your code the same as one of the first two? If so, beats me. If not, try changing your code without using the third digit as part of it. It may be entering the third digit twice on one keystroke.

You can also try taking the keypad apart and using contact cleaner on the circuit board behind the buttons and a small metal nail file on the back of the buttons themselves. Not too much, just smooth out the black material.

There's no programming or setting that alters the code entry speed. Like Alltrack, I am leaning toward a sticking key that may be entering the same digit too many times.

Don't spray contact cleaner on these things. Power the system down and put the contact cleaner or rubbing alcohol on a q-tip to clean the contact points. You would be amazed how much skin oil and other gunk works it's way under the key membrane.

If this keypad has some age on it, you may need to flat replace it, sometimes even a cleaning doesn't do the trick.

add a new code- not using ANY of the 4 digits in the current code and see if the problem goes away
