about 6 months ago i bought a new fridge with an icemaker, i put new plastic line kit in for the icemaker water line , now there is a small slit in the line under the sink it is leaking bad the slit in the line is about 12 inches from the water supply line that is one of the kits that i put to the waterline and turn a T that made the hole in the line. but how do i or can i repair this plastic tubing line? there was nothing that was on or near this line so i dont know how this leak came to be. can i repair this with something or do i have to replace the whole thing again? please any advice i could get woul be helpful:eek:

It would be best to replace with all copper line, but I'm guessing you don't want to do that.
Do you have enough slack to just cut below the crack and insert into the saddle valve using a new plastic ferrule?
If not you can get a straight compression fitting (a coupler), cut the crack out and just join the 2 ends. http://www.plumbingsupply.com/images/compression-union.jpg Of course this gives 2 more connections to possibly leak. You will need to buy a pack of plastic ferrules or sleeves...don't use the metal ones on plastic tubing.
A shame you used that self piercing saddle valve..they are notorious for leaking after a few years. They make T adapters that will attach directly to the sink cutoff valve that are much more reliable. Anyway..too late now.

If you chose to repair with compression fittings along with plastic ferruls you will need brass inserts for each end. These prevent the tubing from collapsing when the fitting is tightened.
Go to a hardware store that isn't a big box store and anyone there with reasonable knowledge can set you up.
