Last Sept., river water filled our basement and flooded our first floor 3 inches. The water receded after 30 hours. House was immediately cleaned and aired out for several months, though not currently habitable. Our 23 year old mattress and box spring were not touched by water but the house was in high humidity for several days. There is no evidence of mold. The mattress and other items are being stored in the house until we are ready to move them. My question is: Can the mattress and box spring be salvaged or should they be discarded?
