Even though you see the oven ignitor glowing, what happens over time is they get weak and do not put out enough heat to safely ignite the gas. If the proper current is not flowing through the ignitor, the gas valve will not open. Ignitors only come in 2 flavors, round and flat {however there is also a flat avalable that has the same operating characteristics as the round]. Ignitors are very generic and universal. I think you may have posted the serial # from your stove, I couldn't get that number to work in a parts lookup. Could you recheck it? Thanks.

I tried the number again with dashes in between and it worked great! The ignitor part # is 5303935066. It's a flat style generic. APP wants $46, Sears wants $61. I found plenty on ebay in the $14 to $25 range. You might also try a local vendor for comparison. The fact that the ignitor is glowing tells us the internal circuitry of the gas valve is good because they are wired in series. Let us know how you make out.

thanks, thats the number I came up with too.
one more question with it though, some of the web sites say its 3 inch ignitor, most on ebay are 1 1/2 inch, is this important, if so, do i measure the ignitor part itself only.?

yes, measure the ignitor itself, the 3 inch reference is probably to the entire thing. You might consider shopping locally and make a comparison.

the stove is fixed, it was the ignitor. I got one from ebay for about $20 shipped.
I do have one last question with it for future knowledge. There are 2 wires from the ignitor, does it matter which place they attach to from the stove?

It doesnt matter The ignitor is a load in series with the gas valve bimetal which is another load, so basically you have 2 loads wired in series.
