Kitchen Large Electric Appliances - Whirlpool Duet Washer drum picture

Does anyone have a picture of the whirlpool duet washer stainless drum?
Our washer fell to the problems of the rattling..... so they sent us a new outer plastic drum back.. then front because the back being bad wore the front out.....

so 6 weeks later the problem is back.. they sent us another plastic drum back...

well i just took it all apart and the bearings seem ok..
I think the problem is the shaft...

down towards the Y it appears to be worn out....

so if someone has a pic then I know....

figure it is Sunday night so a bit slow...
anyway.. I could only find one pic online... and i took a pic of mine..


what i believe the problem is that the area the bearing is supposed to ride on is gone....
the online pic is sooo small i cant tell if it definitely has a spot for the bearing to ride on but it appears so..... what do you think?

You need a drum. the shaft should be the same all the way to the drum. The grove you see in the shaft is where the bearing rides. We always replace the drum with a tub.

that is what i was afraid of...
since they were kind enough to give us 2 back outers and 1 front outer... gonna call them and killem with kindness.. hopefully they will give us the inner drum.... if not worst case is I buy the inner... at least it isnt a new unit...

If you still have the orignal owners manual look under warranty basket has either a 10 year or lifetime warranty. After 2006 or 07 everything went to a 1 year warranty.

the only problem resides in one area... if you pay a person to come out they will warranty it..
however they said once they sent out the back outer basket my warranty was fully terminated due to me not having an authorized repair man work on the unit..
however since then they sent us a front and another back... so im gonna be nice and see if I can get the basket... then it will be fixed... i like whirlpool.... our kitchen appliances are whirlpool (some) and when we redo the kitchen.. most likely will get more.. also I got friends to buy the duet series too.....and they like it...

well they said i have to have a tech come out and verify that the drum is bad.... my wife is calling the 3 repair places they told us so we could use. My wife is going to call them and see who will allow us to bring the drum in to verify if it is defective (which i know it is) and have them order us the new one... hopefully they get paid for their time from whirlpool... more to come...

they are coming out thursday... $90 for them to come out and tell me yes or no it is bad.. if no then will have to buy a new drum... if yes.. they will fill out the paperwork and i can get one under warranty....

Does anyone know which spot you put the springs should they both be forward or back there are two different slots to put them in.:)

springs go in the front holes.

Thanks I have one in each b/c I forgot which way they went and drum was thumping a bit I will put them both up front today. Happy Fathers day to all
