I over seeded my lawn ten days ago with blue grass and perennial rye using a Ryan slit seeder. At the time I did not apply starter fertilizer. I am now wishing I did. Can I still do so now without harming the new grass which is just starting to show though.
If not, when would it be safe to do so? I'm in Minnesota.
Thanks.

You will have no problem using starter fertilizer now or at anytime soon. It's main purpose besides general fertilizing is root system development and at ten days you're just starting with that so go ahead.

I agree - go for it. Starter fertilizer can be put down at almost any time - it's just not necessarily the best option with an established lawn.

If you do not fertilize with the seed it is not recommended to do so until after the first mowing so that the seedlings will not get burned. It is also very important to water in the fert immediately after you apply for the same reason.
