Ok I have never installed an alarm system before. I bought the NX-6 panel, and have 2 keypads (the NX148E and the LED equivalent of the NX148E).
I hooked all my window and door contacts up to zones 1-6. I don't have any motion detectors at the moment. I also do not have a siren. I am going to have the alarm hooked up to the telephone line, and will buy a monitoring service once this all gets working.
So, currently, I have zones 1-6 hooked up to the door/window contacts, 1 keypad hooked up (will hook up the other once I get this thing working), and the AC line hooked up.

I power on the system and the keypad lights up, then starts beeping and will not stop. It says press *2 for help, and it says Control Siren. I know I don't have a siren hooked up.
I can press buttons on the keypad, enter programming, etc., but if I don't press a button for more than about 3 seconds, even while in programming, it will start beeping rapidly at me again.

I think I may be able to understand how to program this thing properly, but everywhere I look I cannot figure out how to get the thing to stop beeping, or ignore the Siren error. When I hooked up the second keypad to the system, it also beeps rapidly.

Any suggestions on how to shut this thing up!?

Thanks
Greg

Entering the default master code will silence the beeps, but it will start again when you enter and leave programming.

Put one of the spare zone resistors across the siren terminals. It needs to see _some_ load to clear the trouble.

You should also program the second keypad's address (*94 programming)
