Someone, for some stupid reason, glued carpet over a beautiful hardwood floor in my living room. I wondered if I should use a chemical stripper to remove the glue or if I can rent a commerical sander and take it up the easy way. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Sort of like finding a treasure chest, huh? If you use a chemical stripper, try it in an inconspicuous space, like a closet to make sure it will do the job. You will probably (definitely) have to use a sander to get the finish you want. Then refinish it. Congratulations on your find, and good luck with the refurbish!
