Hello
I have a problem with ceiling paint. I added a new room so I had to do some drywall work - where I taped or added I had to scrape the texture from the ceiling.
In preparation for paint I put on a drywall primer from Benajamen Moore and then I sprayed texture from Synco (white).
Everywhere that there was previously old ceiling texture and where I tried to feather in the spray the ceiling has turned Yellow.
Any ideas on cause or how to fix?

Welcome to the forums!
Not sure I understand:o
Does the new texture look yellow? or the the old looks yellow against the new?
You may have to use a solvent based primer to seal the stain.

Thanks for the suggestion ...
The problem is that where ever I have gone over the old popcorn texture ceiling with the new synco yellow bleeds through.
Where I have applied it to the new section it is white.

There is some type of stain on the original popcorn. Might be cooking oils or nicotine. It would bleed thru latex paint/primer just like it has thru the new texture. The fix is to prime the ceiling with a solvent based [oil base would be ok] and then [when dry] apply a fresh coat of latex paint to the ceiling.

There is no stain visible on the old texture, looks white and still bleeds through a yellow stain and not just in spots, it seems to blee through where ever I go over old paint.
I have heard it may be latex over an oil base - does that make any sense?

I wouldn't think latex over oil base would be the problem. The water in the texture or latex primer/paint is activating the stain causing it to turn yellow.
