I have a crosley cr248 turntable. i had a piece of paper jammed inside the cd player. i removed the cd player and removed the paper. i put the machine back to together but now i have no power to the control panel. the P/S seams good as when i plug it in i can see a hint of dimming in the lights + i hear it hum for a 2nd then goes away. but the control panel does not work. i checked all wires nothing loose or broken. any ideas.

If it worked before removing the cd player, then you plugged a connection in the wrong place or installed a connection backwards. It happens to all of us.

doing a test when i press the main power button in the P/S powers up but nothing else. the only wires i removed were for the CD player. i didn't disconnect any wires from the control panel. i see 2 thick orange wires going from the main switch to the tire looking P/S which hums for a second when turned on then goes away. so the main switch works.
