Hello,
I am installing a new tub and have a question regarding the intersection of the bath and the backerboard that will make up the walls around the bath.

Should I put the bathtub directly against the wall beams and place the backboard over the edge of the bath ? Or should I install the backerboard on the beams and push the bath onto the backerboard?

Any suggestions?

Cheers!

Tub against studs, backer board next. May want to furr the tub walls above the tub, or plane where the tub contacts the studs for a smooth transition over the tub lip with the backer board. I'd use DensShield, or similar, that won't grow mold and has a w.p. face on it already. Many, many posts on this in search---- above. Be safe, G
