Hi, I have an Oak tree we planted about 2 months ago, it was fine but now I noticed some of the leaves getting brown. It could possibly be dying? Is there any type of soil or minerals I can plant around it to keep it from dying? Thanks. I have been watering it on a regular basis, but not over watering.

Hi Thomas,
Hopefully your tree is doing better by now. There really isn't enough info here to know for certain what is the problem, but there are some common ones that I usually see. I don't know how you planted the tree and if it could be planted too deep. Sometimes trees become planted too deep in the nursery and then it only gets worse when planted in the garden. The rootflare should be visible with no mulch piled around the trunk.
When you say you water regularly, that could mean twice a day, twice a week or twice a month. With what you describe I suspect you may be overwatering. Here's sites on how to plant, mulch and water a newly planted tree so you can check to see what may apply. I'm also including info on rootflare and how tree roots grow.
