Hi all,

I ride a Triumph Sprint ST myself and do most of the simpler work on it, however, recently the GF bought a Peugeot Ludix and it is giving some problems.

OK, so its only a 50 cc 2 stroke. ;) New petrol and all that. New airbox, battery and plug. The engine starts and runs while the revs are high, and vroom vrooming , but as soon as its left to idle it splutters and dies.

Cleaned the carb, checked for any kinks in the fuel line, adjusted the carb air/fuel inlet. Nothing. Still the same.

Any ideas what else I could try? Its not as if it is a major piece of technological art?

Reed valves in two strokes need to be in good shape. also the air filter and exhaust need to be clear. If you have that then you need a clear idle circuit in the carb and a strong ignition. Then it'll run like the little beast it is.

Its all sorted out now. The plug had wrong clearance. Must have been dropped when it was in its box. Once I adjustd the gap, the machine ran perfectly.

Thanks for the reply
