We just bought a 1970's townhome. Two of the walls were covered with 12x12 mirror tiles. These were held on with double sided tape in each corner. We removed all the tiles with putty knives but the double stick tape either pulled plugs out of the drywall paper or left little squares of tape. I've pole sanded the wall to remove most of the loose edges and thicker tape pieces. Is there a way to cover/hide the tape squares and brown drywall paper? I plan to patch the indentations like I would a drywall screw head since most are the size of quarter. What should I use after patching?

Welcome to the forums!

It might be a good idea to use a solvent based primer first. That will seal the exposed gypsum and surrounding paper. It will also seal any leftover adhesive. You can then use joint compound as needed, sand and prime as needed and it's ready for paint.
