I need to pour a 3'x3' concrete pad for my heatpump condenser unit. I want to make it about 10" thick to get the unit up off the ground a good amount. I have some 1/2" rebar I can use to reinforce it. Any tips on spacing for the rebar, how much space to leave between the end of the rebar and the form, is 10" too thick, etc?

10" IS pretty darn thick. Why not build a sort of miniature deck on top of a 3" pad?
1 4x4, a 2 x6, some post standoffs and decking is about all you'd need. But anyway, thats just me.
No reason why you can't pour it that big. Make sure you tap the form well to get good fill and a nice smooth finish on the outside. I use an electric finish sander also to sort of vibrate the form all around...seems to work pretty well.
I'll let someone else advise as to rebar requirements
