Hope someone out there can help me! I am ready to lay a Lock N Fold floating wood floor in a guest bedroom. Our home is in hot, humid Southwest TN, is on standard crawlspace foundation with vapor barrier on ground.
Manufacturers' instructions say I must do a moisture ck on both the sub floor and the flooring prior to installation. I don't want to buy a wood moisture meter (too much $$) to use only 1-2 times. And, can't find one to borrow.....so does anyone know of an alternative method for checking the moisture level of the sub floor other than by a moisture meter? Would the "tape & clear plastic wrap" method used for ck'ng moisture in concrete work on wood?
I found some cheap moisture meters on line (less than $50) but read that they are not accurate and not worth the $$$.
