Hi All,

Long story short… We’re in Florida and we did a bedroom addition on our home about 3 years ago. To get to the new bedroom, you have to walk though the kitchen, then the playroom (which was originally a patio but the previous owners enclosed it).

The front part of our home is tile. We put laminate flooring in the back which includes the kitchen, playroom, and new bedroom. When the previous owners enclosed the patio (now playroom), they didn’t raise the floor. Therefore, we have to step up, and down to get to the bedroom.

Anyway, the playroom is on the same level as our outdoor slab. And we had water coming through a few times with some heavy rains. This past week was pretty bad and now I feel water underneath the floor when we walk.

I’m thinking about ripping up the laminate in the playroom and installing tile.

The only problem will be that I’ll then have tile in the front of the home, then walk to the kitchen with laminate, then the playroom with tile, then the bedroom is laminate…

Does anyone see any issues with that? I wouldn’t mind putting tile in the bedroom if needed but leaving the kitchen laminate to break it up a bit…
