Any one help me by telling me how you get the part out of the sink that the plug sits in? Problem is when retiling, the sink was removed and the part that lifted the plug up from the sink broke. i then bought a pop up stopper and surround to replace the old system but i can,nt work out how you get the old surround out of the sink?

If I understand you correctly, there is a large nut under the sink at the top of the tail pipe, against the porcelain.
