Buying and Selling Vehicles - What is considered low miles for certified pre-owned?

Looking to buy an Acura TL, 2007 or 2008 certified pre-owned.

How many miles are considered "low mileage"? 15,000 or less?

Well, the CPO program may have its own rules, but I think 20K per year is considered average...that may have gone up to 25K...not positive.

Well, I would never argue with a guy with guns :rolleyes:, but my wife's '01 Camry has 97,000 miles on it. That I would call low miles on an 9 year old car. For an '07 I would call low miles somewhere around 30-35,000; an '08 about 20-25,000.

Of course gunguy lives in the middle of the Arizona desert and Wal-Mart is 87 miles away, so 20-25,000 might be an average year's driving.

Well, maybe I've been wrong all of these years, but those are average miles. Low. for me, has always been 12,000 or under per year. 35 or over is considered high. How many 10 year old cars do you see with 350,000 miles?

Hey thats what I said...I thought..lol. 20-25K/year is avg, so a 2 yr old car with 35K would be a little below avg, but maybe not necessarily "low milage". Now 20K on a 2 yr old car would be low milage.

I have a 2001 with 130K, and a 2004 w/50K...both are actually low for their age, but only the 2004 might be considered "low milage" since it still has 5 yrs and 50K left on the warranty.

Read that CPO article..sometimes great deals. Normally when a car is CPO'd you get an additional warranty..in ADDITION to the original.

And I have a walmart just a mile away I'll have you know....lol. Though I do normally put less than 400 mi a month on both cars combined, unless we go to LA to see the sister-in-law. That includes 1 trip a month to Lost Wages at 250 miles r/t (not to gamble though).

FWIW my miles driven in the wrecker is down severely from an average of ~35k/yr to about 25k or so. :coffee:

Cause people are taking "staycations" more now. No jobs, no money to drive as far, less need for TG's services.

You can come up here and pull some steel posts out for me if you need the depreciation for taxes...but I'm not paying travel..lol
