I have a 1/4 bruce oak engineered floor. I'm installing over concrete floor with adhesive. The floor is flat and well preped with a portland based skim coat. The problem that I'm having, even if I make sure that the boards are true, is that I get gaps between boards. The manufacture tells you to hold them togeather with painters tape. Right. Needs much more force than that. I have over the first few courses been using long boards against the oppisite wall and wedging them until there is no gap. This means, given how fast the glue sets up that I can only do one course at a time. My courses are 22' feet long. How do I do this job so I can keep at it, without having to stop for 12 hours after one course?

Check with a tool rental that handles flooring supplies and get some strap kits...you can continue to work without movement.

That is very common with all Bruce floors that I have had the unfortunate opportunity to touch.
