my kids have a go cart with a briggs fun power 5 hp motor, it seems to run fine when it is sitting still or on a smooth surface, but dies when going over bumps, any ideas what might cause this. i have adjusted the carb over and over, doesnt seem to help. thanks

post the engine model, type and code so we can get a better idea of the fuel supply system. Have a good one. Geo

Try a new diaphragm, Briggs part number 272538S. It's easy to do and should be the problem. If that does not take care of the problem then post back.

this might seem strange, but i noticed that it runs fine when the gas tank is clear full. after the fuel level drops a 1/2" or so it acts up again. maybe a hole in the fuel tube? thanks mike

I have nearly the same engine and exactly the same problem. the engine model is 136212; type:002601; code:961128Y. Is the part number that you suggested the same for this engine? If not, what is it? thanks.

Can you slow it down by manually holding back the throttle on the carb?
