I have an old GE electric kettle (1950's ?) that stopped working. Looking inside the electrical base I found a wire broken between one post of the heater coil(?) and one of the two pins that connect to the old style push on electric plug receptacle.

I'm trying to figure out what to use to replace this wire which isn't a simple one strand wire but looks a bit like a woven wire, a small version of what you'd find as a car battery ground wire. Can someone tell me what this kind of wire is called and where to find a replacement for it. It's only 1-2 inches long and looks like it's crimped on to the heater coil end and has a ring on the other end where it attaches to the pin(held in place by a nut)
