I have a split level basement in my house. I had to remodel a bath on the upper basement level (approx. 4 ft. below grade) due to chronic water seepage from around the cast iron waste pipe that comes up through the concrete floor for the toilet during times of high rainfall. To prevent seepage we did major regrading on the exterior to move surface water away from the foundation into a french drain system, which seemed to solve the seepage problem until we had 4 inches in a day and water is again coming up around the waste pipe. I will work to further improve the drainage, but what can I seal around the pipe with to prevent further damage to my new bath floor and walls? Thanks.

Hydraulic pressure seems to find a way around any patch. Perhaps someone has had better experiences than I. but my approach has been to sink a sump hole with a pump to relieve the pressure before it reaches to point where it can leak in. Not always possible, as a rising water table can overwhelm the pumps, but I have had successful installations.

Have you checked what you did previously, including gutters downspouts, to make sure things are working??
Try filling gaps with expanding urethane foam. Get it down around the pipe as far down as possible, and do not use it around anything but concrete and the cast iron pipe. Anything moveable will get pushed out of the way. Once it sets up, you can trim off the excess, and that should stop or reduce seepage to a bare minimum.
