For the same house built in the 's 50s that I posted another question about: How big a deal is it to remove a dropped ceiling on a 20' x 20' room and also put in a couple skylights? The roof line above has a very low pitch with maybe only a 6 foot incline.

What is above the dropped ceiling? What do you plan on having for a finished ceiling once you remove the grids? I would opt for solar tubes rather than skylights. You can check into them to see the difference. A 6' incline over 24' isn't much. A 6' incline in 6' is alot.

Depends on how fast you work. If a plaster drop, a lot of work. Your 4/12 slope roof would take a skylight, but I would think twice in a high wind area. Plus I wouldn't go wider than a 2', longer, maybe. Have a roofer flash it for you, or buy the kit. Be safe, G
