Outdoor Animal Control - For The Birds

I was hoping I could get a few suggestions on a way to discourage bird nest building. More specifically under our deck the support wood structure provides a perfect place for birds to build nests. The area is covered and provides many flat surfaces for them to build. Almost daily I am knocking off partially build nests to keep them from continuing. The deck area is about 25 ft and has many small "building areas". Obviously I would like to discourage this from continuing.

I thought there was a product I have seen used on store signs & letters to deter them from doing the same. Basically all it was were small spikes that would poke their feet if they land in this area and force them to move elsewhere. Because this area is flat I could easily attach something like this without problem. However, I don't know if such an item exists or where to purchase it.

I am open to any suggestions or thoughts anyone may have.
