[couldn't find a 'Window' category at the Exterior board...sorry]
hello again...
about 3 or 4 years ago, I purchased a 12' length of Caradco PVC Sill Nosing from Home Depot. This is a cutoff I had left over; & saved:
http://www.moonjams.com/PVC_SillNosing.JPG
I am now continuing w/ my exterior renovations; & find myself in need of another 12' length. Since that time, Caradco was gobbled up by Jeld-Wen...& they can't seem to help at Home Depot (despite the fact that I provided the original SKU & Part #'s).
I can't seem to make any headway w/ Jeld-Wen either; & was wondering if anyone here knows where this can be obtained (I am in mid-Jersey), or who to contact at Jeld-Wen to find it (couldn't find anything relative to 'parts & accessories' on their site).
Sure would appreciate some help on this one...I've got all my windows rehabbed save for a set of 4 D-H's mulled together on my South elevation; & I need a 12' length of that exact profile Sill Nosing to finish up.
Thanks a million,

I just went through a similar experience only with lightingjust today.
After getting the perverbial run-around from local stores, and the manufacturer in both NY and CA I got mad as hel and decided I was not going to take ambivalence for an answer.
So I call NY again and demanded I speak to the President of the company. Of course he was no available so I asked to speak to his/her executive secretary. I asked her nicely for help, but I told her very firmly I was not going to go away without an answer.
She, put me intouch with the regional rep who she personally contacted in my behalf and I recieved a call within 15 minutes.
Pushed by management, my problem is now solved, I not only got the item I needed but I got an upgrade at no cost to me.
I'm sure the president of the co dosn't know or care only that he did not have to deal with it.
The point is don't take no for an answer. Hold Jeld-Wen accountable. One of their reps has a customer somewhere that has some of that sill nosing some place. Just remember, the squeeky whell gets the grease.
One last thought, when Jeld-Wen bought out Caradco, they also got their customer list. Suggest that they send a broadcast fax or e-mail to those customers. Don't just leave it up to them to think of that on their own.
And one more thing don't even bother to ask Home Depot except to get the name and phone number of their rep for Jel-Wen.

Most of the millworks houses I use have the extruded sill, even though they make their money in wood. They like them better and they tend to weather better and don't rot. Just check in the yellow pages for millworks. I am sure you can find one that carries them.

If you can find a retailer that sells Azek in your area, they have a PVC sill nose profile.

Royal Molding has about 8 diff profiles, problem is none look like that example.
Jeld-Wen switched in about 2003-2004 to PVC BM and sill on the stock wood windows back east, but I'm pretty sure that was a 1-piece sill. Then when they came out with the Auralast wood, they went with that instead of PVC.
btw..Jeld-Wen bought Caradco way back in 1997, I think they were marketed as "CARADCO-a Jeld-Wen Company" for a while, now the same basic windows are called Traditions PLus if they are aluminum clad. Heck, I can't even find an all wood window on their website anymore.

I really don't know...what you have looks a little different from the profiles I remember.
I had a similar problem when I was doing repairs to a twin unit, I was able to take a standard piece and make a few passes on the table saw and make it fit and work just fine. If you can find something that the outer profile matches, you can probably trim the tongue as required to make it work.
Check here page 9 and see if you can find something you can modify....
