I just moved in to this place where the carpets are light tan color, we have dogs and one had an accident on the floor. My roomie put pure all purpose cleaner on it and scrubbed the 4 inch spot into a 1 foot stain.
What can I do about this, in my current situation I am not able to get a carpet cleaner well at least not for another month.

Thanks for any help.

Seltzer water and lots of clean cotton towels...
Pour some water in the area, not too much, just enough to wet the entire area, then put down a towel and apply pressure. Don't walk on it, that will spread it out, just push down with your hands.

Repeat as required. Repeat, repeat, repeat...

EDIT...I said seltzer...regular soda water is what I meant...in the mixers area at the store.

Great, will try this. Thanks so much!

EDIT: I actually found out he poured ONE CUP of cleaner on the area.

use of a shop vac to pull the rinse out will help...dont scrub too hard or you will distort the pile

I'd use biological washing powder or liquid to get the staining out -but try not to oversoak the carpet ,and try not to rub too much and for any residual smell I always swear by surgical spirits but you can buy de-oderisers.
:thumbup:good luck -hope you get it out
