I am trying to replace the caskets on my leaky shower faucet.
It is a Delta single handle faucet about 8 years old.
I removed the set screw that holds the handle on so I could remove the handle to get at the cartridge. I thought the handle would just slide off but it doesn't. It seems like it is being held on by something else.
I'm trying to avoid prying it off for fear I might damage something else.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks:wall:

Does that mean force it off or call a plumber?

Well, they make pullers, but it may not work with yours. It just gets corrosion and mineral build up in there, and can lock it up pretty tight.

You can try spraying something like Liquid Wrench around the stem, tap the end lightly a few times, let it sit for a while (overnite), and see what happens, but sometimes its just going to require a handle replacement. Pretty cheap for new handles.
