My 2040 is a very old one with the type 1 roller adjusters, they are all siezed up and I'm going to replace them with type2.
On the type 2, there are 3 parts, the adjuster screw on top, the metal roller holder, and a pin that goes up through the holder and attaches to the adjuster screw.
The metal holder looks to me to be just like my Type 1 holder, but without the screw in the top (which attaches to a pin in the bottom). I'm wondering if I just remove that screw and pin, do I have a Type2 holder? The parts list specifically says "Metal Holder - Type2" so I'm wondering if I have to buy these too as they're rather expensive. The only picture I found of what is supposedly a type2 one looks just like mine without that screw/pin in it, but hard to see.
I figured on the off chance someone here has done it and remembers I'd give it a shot. I'll prob buy the knobs and pins and try to make my holders work.
