Hello. I have a similar question about bathroom windows. Our bathroom window is frosted and medium sized. Since it faces a secluded forest behind our house (no patio, deck, other houses, roads or people out there) I plan to replace it with a large, clear pane window. The bottom of the existing window is about 10 feet up from ground level, so not glaringly obvious, but should someone walk around to the back of the house, one could see in by looking up....... Would my plan be a negative for resale? thanks for any opinions.

What could they see, the ceiling? I wouldn't worry about resale. If you sell, hang a plastic curtain on it.

Hi frogtoes,
I don't think that the change of this element will affect the resale value of a house
In any case, the glass value is not significative regarding the value of the house.
The most important thing is how do you feel with this change and if you feel that the change will affect or not your privacy--> a friend had a similar situation and he decided to install a transparent glass, so he could see the plants and trees.... however, after he installed the transparent glass, he felt lack of privacy, and he was not comfortable with the permanent movement of the birds, squirrels, etc
End of the story--> he installed the frosted glass again :D

I've posted this before, but my customer insisted on this window in her shower.<a href="http://s76.photobucket.com/albums/j3/larrychandler/?action=view¤t=DSCF0486.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j3/larrychandler/DSCF0486.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
I wasn't sure how it would work, until the day I pushed out the OSB covering it up. What a "rush" of light. Of course she is 2500 feet up with little chance of a "look-through". It will have to be tempered.
