I'm moving into a home using Evaporative Coolers with a manual wall switch. I'm going to install Thermosats to control the Coolers, and have looked at several models. From their descriptions, and manuals, I cannot tell if any of them will automatically select the Low or High Fan Speed based on the demand.
Can anyone point me to a Cooler Thermostat that will do this?
Prefer one that does not require an external Control Box, but rather is a straight forward wire connect inside the existing box.
Thanks for any help.
George

Hi there. If your coolers are already wired for two speeds, there is a thermostat made by dial that can take place of the wall switch.
You have to be careful of which one you buy, the newer one by Dial manufacturing will change speeds automatically. I have that model on my garage cooler, it works great.
You can google up dial cooler parts and see what they have on their website for thermostats. The original thermostat that they have is called "cooler controller" I dont like that one and it does not change speeds automatically, the one that you want is called "EzI-stat" That is the good model. They can be hard to find, lowes does not carry them, they only carry the lo voltage version of that unit which would require you to add a control box to the cooler.
Some home depots do carry the EzI-stat but they can be hard to find.

i purchased the dial #7624 at lowes, comes with the low voltage thermostat and a power supply, all you need is enough low voltage wire to run to the power supply, which you mount near the swamp cooler, works great, best thing i did for the swamper.
