Im a little confused on how to transition my bathtub tile to drywall. The backer board and drywall are to be installed flush to each other but my questions are....
does my concrete backer board end where my tile ends or do I want to give it a few more inches?
Do I want to put mesh tape and joint compound over the seam before I start installing the tile?
Can excess backer board be skim coated with joint compound to blend with my drywall? And if so, is there a limit to how much I can cover with compound?
On my outside corner where tile meets drywall do i need to use a corner bead? I assume so, but is there anything special I should know?
Thanks again for your help Beer 4U2

You want the drywall and cement board to meet somewhere in the middle of the last row of tile. Tape and mud that joint with thinset, not drywall compound. The last row of tile will cover the drywall/cement board joint.
At to the outside corner, don't use cornerbead. It will bow out the last row of tile and will be noticeable. Use the same alkalai resistant mesh tape on the outside corner. Install your row of bullnose tile at the corner where you want it to end, using thinset. After you grout, use the edge of the bullnose tile as a straight edge and fill the drywall side in with joint compound.

Thanks johnny for your help!
I often help out in the window treatment section and know what an unrewarding job it is. So often we are treated like 2 bit *****s and never spoken too again after "these people" get what they came far.
I am no one night stand and plan on returning with pics of my conquests. Beer 4U2
