i have a ge that runs but does not heat........any suggestions

Might be a blown fuse or a bad magnetron...if its over a couple of years old..might be better buying new...

Can you hear the magnetron? It could simply be a blown fuse, however-
Normal procedure for GE MW Ovens:
1. On trash day, lift MW Oven and carry to the curb.
2. Go to store and buy new MW Oven.
3. Make sure new MW Oven does not say GE on it.

If it were a blown fuse, it would probably not do anything at all.
Might be a transformer that broke down. Had that with mine, was a lot cheaper to buy new MW than new transformer, even for DIY repair.
